Ok these are the rules that I expect EVERY member of the sim league to follow. If you choose not to follow them, you will be prosecuted lol. This is going to be a fun league so I don't plan on doing anything that bad unless the offense is well, bad lol.
We're going to start with articles. If you go to the MLB.com section of the sim league, you will see a sub-board named "Articles." This is going to be a very important aspect of the sim league. If you want to sign free agents, then you MUST post articles. You will get points based on the articles(1-5) and the more points you get, the better. In order to have the right to offer a contract to a certain player, you must have a certain amount of points. Once you have those points, make a thread saying you're using X amount of points to offer a player a contract. You have 5 chances to offer a contract that the player accepts. There is a scale to this, so you don't have to ask me for each player. I will keep track of how many points you have in a topic in the board. There will be several people rating the articles so its just not going to be me. You're points will be based on grammer, length(doesn't have to be super long but i don't want like 3 sentences either), as well as creativity but make sure its factual. The scale is as follows:
90 overall+= 7 points
80-89 ovr= 5 points
70-79 ovr= 3 points
Below 70= 1 point
Now its time for trades. There will be trade moderators. If you want to be one, PM me telling me why you should. In the trade, this is the format that I want to see:
Team A Sends:
J. O'Neill, Pitcher, MLB, 21, 89 overall
J. Doe, Catcher, AA, 18, 56 overall
You must include the name, position, the league they are in(MLB, AAA, AA, A), the age, and the overall.
Speaking of the minor leagues, let's talk about calling a player up and sending him down. You're whole team will be posted in your rosters. That includes the minor leaguers. If you want to bring a player up to your major league team, then you must send someone back down to the minors. Its that simple. Just make a post in each board and you'll be on your way.
Injuries will be posted with the team rosters. So they will be in the team thread in the sub-board of the front office section. If you want a player to go on the DL(15 day or 60 day) make a reply in the thread letting me know. If you put a player on the DL, you can call someone up from your minor league system without sending someone down. But, when you want to bring a player off the DL, you have to send someone back down to the minors.
This is all that I can think of right now. If you have any questions or concerns, PM me or ask them in the correct board. Everyone should have fun with this. I know I will so enjoy yourself while you're here. Also, check out the Madden 07 sim league and IP/IP league that is going on. Those are going to be a good time so if you have the chance, join one.
Also, please insert a link to your roster in your signature.
The DH will be on for both leagues. So, when you post rosters, make sure you have the DH included in your lineup.
Also, it has been decided that we will be using a shorter season. Somewhere in the 80 game range. This will make simming easier and that way the league won't take forever just to finish one season.
If you can, download X Fire. This will be the easiest way for us to chat during the sims. You can download it here: X Fire. If not, then we will find a different chat to use because I want everyone to be in the same place during the sims. The way they will work is like this. I don't know what days we're simming on but we're going to aim for 2-3 sims per week with 3 days per sim. There will be a short break in between days so people can get updated on injuries and such. That way people can change the lineup around a bit.
As always, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
